# BIS Self-Billing V3
Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 Self-billing (opens new window) is a profile built on UBL 2.1, intended for sellers to receive invoices from buyers. The buyer generates the invoice on behalf of the seller. The specification is aligned with the European Norm EN 16931-1. The use of the Self-billed invoice requires a different approach than the regular BIS Billing V3.
